FANUC's CRX-10iA/L is pitched at manufacturers with little or no robotics experience: a 10 kg collaborative robot programmed by dragging blocks on a tablet, with contact-stop safety built in. It sits in the middle of the cobot market — twice the payload of a 5 kg arm, without stepping up to a full industrial cell — and its dealer price is a single number, which makes budgeting simpler than for range-priced rivals.
What the CRX-10iA/L is
The CRX-10iA/L is a six-axis cobot with sensitive contact detection: its sensors trigger an immediate safety stop when touched by a human body. Programming is drag-and-drop on a tablet teach pendant, including manual guided teaching — lead the arm to a position, save it on the tablet — so a first application can be taught in minutes rather than programmed over days. It also offers an underflip motion that helps it work in tight or awkward orientations.
The published specifications, from the dealer listing, are:
- Payload: 10 kg
- Reach: 1,418 mm in the product text, 1,420 mm in the specification table (about 1.42 m either way)
- TCP speed: 1 m/s
- Repeatability: 0.04 mm
- Protection: IP67 against dust and oil leakage
- Safety: ISO 10218-1
- Arm weight: 40 kg
The IP67 rating is a genuine differentiator at this price: most small cobots are IP54, so the CRX-10iA/L tolerates oily, dusty shop conditions that would rule out a lighter-rated arm. The trade-off is speed — 1 m/s is well below the 2.2 m/s of faster 5 kg cobots — so it is a steady, precise arm, not a fast one.

| Model | Listed price | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| FANUC CRX-10iA/L | €38,500 excl. VAT | 10 kg cobot, about 1.42 m reach, IP67, tablet drag-and-drop programming, in stock at listing |
| FANUC CRX-20iA/L | €45,000 excl. VAT | Larger CRX sibling listed on the same dealer page, €6,500 above the 10iA/L |
The sibling price gives the guide a natural ladder: if your parts and reach fit the 10iA/L, the €38,500 price is the whole story; if you are already near its 10 kg or reach limit, the €6,500 step to the 20iA/L is cheaper than buying the smaller arm and replacing it. Do not assume the sibling's payload from its model name alone — confirm its specification on a quote before using it as the upgrade case.
The same dealer page also shows complete workstation bundles, which are useful for total-budget planning: a machine-tending combination (robot, OnRobot 3FG15 gripper and Made4CNC safety door) at €47,739 excl. VAT, an assembly combination at €56,782 excl. VAT, and a packaging combination at €42,850.07 excl. VAT. Those are dealer bundle totals, not FANUC list prices, and options in interfaces, DCS and safety functions, and robot software are available on request, priced separately.
When the CRX-10iA/L fits, and when it does not
The CRX-10iA/L fits best for first-time automation in machine tending, material handling, assembly and packaging, where parts are at or below 10 kg, reach fits inside about 1.42 m, and the environment is oily or dusty enough to value IP67. Its tablet programming is the deciding feature for shops without a robot programmer.
Step up or look elsewhere when any of these apply: payloads above 10 kg, cycle times that need more than 1 m/s sustained TCP speed, or a reach beyond about 1.42 m. In those cases the CRX-20iA/L sibling, or a faster 5 kg arm for light high-speed work, will cost less over the cell's life than forcing the 10iA/L past its limits.
A final budgeting note: the €38,500 figure is the robot price excl. VAT. Treat the gripper, camera or force sensor, safety equipment, freight and VAT as separate lines, and confirm the current dealer price before budgeting, since cobot pricing moves with configuration and region.
