A drone-in-a-box system is sold as one product and priced as about a dozen. We read the full public product feeds of three US dealers — Maverick Drone Systems, DroneFly and DSLRPros — on 13 August 2026, confirmed USD on each store's cart endpoint, and rebuilt every dock bundle from its own parts. The bundles turn out to be arithmetic, not discounts.
The base hardware

The dock spread is $891 (5.6%). The aircraft spread is $59. Two of the three dealers agree to the dollar on everything.
Every bundle is the sum of its parts, plus $19.99
DroneFly and DSLRPros both sell a "DJI Dock 3 + 25 ft power extension cord" for $15,909.99 and the same cord on its own for $19.99. $15,890.00 + $19.99 = $15,909.99. Then:
- DJI Dock 3 + Matrice 4TD, $23,549.99 = $15,890 + $7,640 + $19.99
- Dock 3 + Matrice 4TD (Standalone Unit), $25,709.99 = $15,890 + $9,800 + $19.99
Both bundles decode exactly. The $2,160 gap between them is precisely the gap between the aircraft-only 4TD and the same aircraft with its RC Plus 2 controller. Nothing is being discounted; the cord is the packaging.
DSLRPros' application bundles decode the same way and reveal something else:
- Ultimate Mining Bundle, $21,440.00 = Dock 3 + Matrice 4D
- Solar Panel Inspection Bundle, $23,530.00 = Dock 3 + Matrice 4TD
- Cattle Rancher Bundle, $23,530.00 = the same two boxes, different name
Two differently named "application" packages are the identical pair of products at the identical price. Two others do not decode from the same-day catalogue — Dock Security Bundle $27,548.99 and Dock 3 Ready To Fly Bundle $26,270.00 — so if a vertical bundle is quoted to you, ask which line items are inside it.
Maverick is the exception in the other direction: it has the cheapest dock ($14,999) and the most expensive pair. Its Dock 3 + M4TD bundle is $25,808.99 against $22,698 for its own two parts — 13.7% more than buying them separately, and listed as unavailable on the day we read it.
Autel: the same phrase across a 10x range
Autel's docking hardware sits at both ends of the category. Maverick lists an EVO MAX Nest at $16,000 and DroneFly and DSLRPros list an EVO Nest at $20,361.70; the product names differ and we could not confirm from the two listings that they are the same SKU, so treat that as a naming question to put to the dealer rather than a proven 27% spread. What is unambiguous is the top of the line: the Autel Dragonfish Nest is $155,000, roughly 9.8x a DJI Dock 3, with a separate Dragonfish base station at $5,950. "Drone-in-a-box" spans an order of magnitude.
Software is the line most budgets miss
FlytBase, priced identically at both DroneFly and DSLRPros:

Both three-year terms are exactly 10.0% below three single years — the same discount on two different products, which reads as a policy rather than a negotiation. Year one of software is 28.3% of the dock's price; three years of it is 76.4% of the dock, or 51.6% of a dock-plus-aircraft pair. Each Flink integration costs the same $2,499 regardless of which platform it connects to.
Note the contrast: Maverick lists the FlytBase platform at $0.00, while two dealers price the same product family to the dollar. Alongside DSLRPros' "Dock-in-a-Box Deployment Services" at $0.00 and its "Dock Build" labour SKU at $263.00, this is the familiar pattern of catalogues that mix real prices with call-us placeholders.
Accessories, and one useful outlier
Parachute recovery for Dock 3 and the Matrice 4D/4TD is $3,699 — 23.3% of the dock itself. The D-RTK 3 relay for fixed deployment is $2,799 (out of stock on the day). Small parts run $48 (propellers) to $459 (battery, vehicle-mounted gimbal mount), and here Maverick is the *more* expensive dealer: $499 for the battery against $459, $159 for the charging hub against $152. Which dealer is cheapest flips by line item, not by relationship.
The outlier worth knowing: DroneFly and DSLRPros both list a Matrice 4TD demo unit at $4,699, 38.5% below the $7,640 new price.
Budgeting checklist
- Price the dock, the aircraft, the software year and the parachute as four separate decisions.
- Rebuild any bundle from the same store's own parts before accepting it as a saving.
- Ask what a named "application bundle" contains — two of the ones here are the same two boxes.
- Put year two and three of software in the capital request, not the operating one.
