Punyo

Punyo is a soft-bodied research humanoid from Toyota Research Institute, its upper body wrapped in inflatable bubbles and tactile sensors. Standing 160cm and weighing 47kg, the hybrid soft-rigid design uses two rigid arms, a waist actuator and high-friction latex grippers with internal tactile cameras to grasp large objects by hugging or shoulder-carrying, no conventional gripper required. It runs on ROS 2 as a whole-body manipulation and elder-care research platform, not a commercial product.
